The participating contractors Ð up to 50 Ð will be publicly hon- ored at a recognition event in Las Vegas, March 6, 2014. There is still an opportunity for contractors to participate. Each contrac- tor and a guest will receive complimentary show admission plus airline tickets to Las Vegas and two nights in a hotel room. The ConExpo-Con/Agg Quality of Life Campaign is rais- ing greater awareness of the accomplishments of the construc- tion industry among all those who benefit from its work: vital improvements such as well-maintained and safe roads and bridg- es, upgraded and fully functioning clean-water and sewer capa- bilities, and improved facilities for recreation, health, transit and other services. Campaign-generated stories explain the positive benefits of construction projects of all sizes and descriptions across the Unit- ed States, and ConExpo-Con/Agg invites contractors and other industry professionals to submit projects demonstrating how their companies and their projects contribute to our quality of life Contractors whose projects fit the program will not only have the opportunity to garner publicity for their work; they will be recognized at the show. When the campaign was first announced, Glen Tellock, the ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 chair and chairman and CEO of The Man- itowoc Co. said ÒConExpo-Con/Agg 2014, as the global gathering place in North America every three years for the construction and construction materials industries, provides an ideal context for the culminating recognition event that will focus on the people of the construction industry and their significant contributions to our modern quality of life.Ó Education and Exhibit Pavilions On the ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 show floor, a new Demolition & Recycling exhibit pavilion, sponsored by the Construction & Dem- olition Recycling Association (C&DRA), will showcase exhibits and products specific to C&D recyclers and demolition contractors. The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), brings back its Technology & Construction Solutions pavilion for contrac- tor software providers, finance and leasing companies, insurance providers, and related suppliers of contractor business solutions. IFPE 2014 features exhibit pavilions from PTDA, the Power Transmission Distributors Association, and for sensors manufac- turers and product suppliers. International exhibit pavilions at both shows reinforce the global scope of the events and offer attendees access to a wider range of companies and product options. To date, the shows have eight official country pavilions: IFPE with China, Italy and Tai- wan; ConExpo-Con/Agg with China, Germany, Ireland, Korea and United Kingdom. ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 features a comprehensive Education Program with more than 110 sessions over 10 subject-matter tracks: aggregates, asphalt, business management best practic- es, concrete, cranes & rigging, earthmoving & site development, equipment management & maintenance, recycling & preserva- tion, safety & regulations, and workforce development.
